ON STAGE Performing Arts Competitions
These competitions were started by Jane Perrozzi and her family, with the first comp being held in September 2005 as a four day event. Since then, the ON STAGE Performing Competitions have continued to grow, with the latest being held in July 2023.
There are four comp seasons run per year in the January, April, July and September/October school holidays, with over 50 different studios participating at each event. These events are held at the beautiful Penrhos College, Rixon Theatre, Como, Western Australia (April & September/October) and at the Belridge Secondary College, Performing Arts Centre in Beldon (January/July).
With a wide range of sections on offer, performers can enter in solos, duos/trios and troupes. Genres include: Acrobatics, Classical, Contemporary, Demi Character, Hip Hop, Improvisation, Modelling, Modern, Monologue, Musical Theatre, National, Neo Classical, Own Choreography, Poetry, Slow Modern, Song & Dance, Tap Medley, Tap, Vocal, Dance Challenge, Dance Ability, Mature & Motivated, Production and Junior & Senior Championships. Most solo sections are classified into Novice, Intermediate & Open.
At most of our competitions, there will be several adjudicators on rotation, who comment and critique with either a written or audio report on each performance. Each adjudicator brings with them a wealth of knowledge and experience as they are industry professionals, providing a valuable source of feedback to each performer.
Known as 'the friendly comps' - the ON STAGE Performing Arts Competitions offer a great platform for students of all ages and levels of experience and expertise to perform their routines in a safe, positive and friendly environment. These competitions help to build confidence and self esteem, whilst encouraging their technical growth and performance development. Helping to prepare them for the audition process in the real world and instilling in them the determination to work hard, practice and improve in their chosen fields, these competitions nurture the development of each and every performer and their love of performing.
Supported by Studio Principals and their teaching staff, these competitions strive to encourage and inspire creativity and improvement by all, with the added bonus of making many new friendships and expanding the support network to all studios.
Proudly supported by many businesses and individuals, there are always great prizes, trophies and prize money on offer to award the performers.
So, come and join us for an enjoyable experience. Local, regional, national and international performers are all welcome!
